If you have limited space in your closet you’ll want to make sure there is a place for everything and everything is in its place.  This why if you go into any home décor store you’ll find a massive array of closet organizer units to choose from.

Modular units are amongst this most practical because they are stackable with simple vertical walls with horizontal surfaces.  You can also buy them with drawers that allow you to store socks, gloves, shirts and other similar items.

Custom Closet Organizers – If you want something extra special, you can even order one to be built specially for you.  You can then have any organizer you want; whether it be for shoes, ties or trousers.  They’ll have in-built shelves, moveable rods, adjustable racks and rotating hangers.

Solid Wood Closet Organizers - You can have these items made in many types of material with wood being amongst the most luxurious and best quality.  Woods you might like in your home include oak, walnut and cherry.  You can also choose what finish to have applied such as stain and varnish.

Plastic and Metal Closet Organizers - If you don’t feel you can stretch to having wooden custom-made organisers the other options for material include plastic, metal and other composite materials.  These can come in a huge variety of colours and designs.  Plain black or checkerboard, solid red or with an elaborate design, they’re all here.  There are even ones made from cardboard which are incredibly cheap but don’t last quite as long if you are going to be making good use of them.

Closet Shoe Organizers - Shoe organizers are must if you have even just a few pairs of shoes.  There are different styles such as shelves made of cloth which hangs down from the railing or an organiser with pockets that you hang on the back of the door.  You use them to store all kinds of shoe including, slippers, trainers, evening shoes and slippers.  However knee-high boots might not be able to fit in.

Other types are in the form of a metal rack which you sit on the floor of your wardrobe.  These can either be stackable or stand-alone.  There even ones which have metal prongs that allow you to store the shoes at an angle.  Whilst others feature wooden pegs.  Still others provide cloth no-scuff pockets in a variety of sizes or just small cubbyholes.

Wine Organizers – Strange as it may sound, storing wine in your closet can be an excellent idea.  This is because closest tend be cool during the day and night which is ideal for storing wine.  Modular units with X-shaped inserts make an easy-to-use and expandable option.

Storing clothing is very easy too.  There are garment storage bags which are clear, vinyl and even luxurious leather.

Tie and Belt Closet Organizers – If you have more than just one or two ties then you want somewhere to store them so they don’t get creased and you can easily find the one you want.  Well, there are racks specially designed for ties.  The same goes for belts.  One hanger with a swivel head and prongs or hooks can store a dozen ties or belts.  If you like gadgets, there are even racks which are battery operated so that it rotates for you; this allows easy access.

There are so many hangers and shelf dividers it’s unbelievable.  There are even ones specially made for jewelry.  If you are disorganised it’s very easy to think you don’t have enough storage space.  But with a little thought and storage accessories, you’ll wish you had done it earlier.
