Concrete Floor Coverings For Your Home
We all know that concrete is often used as a flooring material in commercial premises but having it in the home is not something most people would ever consider. People tend to choose other materials for flooring such as bamboo, tiles or hardwood. However if it is laid correctly, you’d be surprised at just how good concrete flooring in the home can look.
You may find it difficult to believe just how good concrete can look in the home but there are many different treatments that can be applied to concrete. It can even take on the appearance of the more expensive marble. So if you think it’ll look like the trades entrance of a builders yard you’re very wrong! Concrete can even be painted whatever color you wish which can help liven up a dull interior.
The color most associated with concrete is of course grey and is generally found in warehouses and workshops where aesthetics are typically not taken into consideration. Most people think concrete is purely functional which is why it’s used often used out of doors. It never occurs to them that they can give concrete an amazing finish and create a wonderful homely flooring.
As touched on above, concrete is used out of doors so it’s incredibly hard-wearing and can deal with many boots clumping over it. Even if you are dragging large items of furniture across the room you’d be hard pressed to damage the concrete. This makes it an ideal flooring choice for those with boistress children who have little thought or consideration to your expensive flooring. Once you have concrete floors in your home you won’t have to worry about replacing it for many many years.
Concrete is great for those who hate cleaning. It’s much easier to clean as it doesn’t trap hairs and dust in the same way as carpeting does. This makes it even better for allergy sufferers who are allergic to dust mites. When cleaning concrete all you need is a wet mop. You can leave the vacuum cleaner in the cupboard!
All in all, concrete flooring is one choice you should never discount without actually seeing it in person. You can have it installed in many rooms of the house including the kitchen, bathroom, living room and hallway. Because it can be painted you are not limited to boring dull colors if you are the sort of person who likes to make a statement.
