Rope Hammocks

Whenever anyone has an image of a hammock it is generally one made of rope as they offer a classic desert island look. Rope hammocks are made from either natural materials such as cotton or hemp or they are made from synthetic materials such as nylon or polyester. Each type is designed in such a way that it is strong enough to hold the weight of a person without snapping.

Many people will disagree as to what type of hammock is the most comfortable however it ultimately comes down to personal choice. The reason you may want to buy a synthetic hammock over a natural one comes down to how durable they are when kept outside. It is generally found that synthetic fibres stand up better to the elements so this type of hammock would be the best choice if you plan on keeping you hammock outside for long periods of time.

Another point to note about hammocks in general is that you will require a hammock stand if you don’t have two trees or posts to tie your hammock between. Hammock stands can be purchased separately or as a package with your hammock. The benefit of having a stand it that you can transport your hammock anywhere, for example, to a friend’s house or to the beach.
